Join Lutheran education colleagues from around the world for a day of exploration, education, and inspiration as we consider the many models, challenges, and opportunities for Christian education in a Lutheran context available in today’s diverse and changing global settings.

  • Meet representatives from many countries who are engaged in Lutheran education and learn how you can become better connected and involved

  • Hear from speakers who have first-hand experience with Christian education in diverse settings

  • Become exposed to organizations which can help you and your school reach out to the rest of the world

  • Learn about opportunities you have to serve and teach in other countries

  • Experience sessions that will allow for interactive sharing, networking, brainstorming, and exploration of topics common to Lutheran educators in multiple settings

  • Discover how you can become part of a global network and engage in ongoing collaboration with Lutheran educators around the world

  • Cost: $100 (includes continental breakfast, lunch, and materials)

  • Cost $0 (for students receiving Grow A Teacher grant and approved by their university)

10:30 - 12:00  Center for Urban Education Ministry event and brunch with Grow A Teacher students (at Hilton Hotel)

The Center for Urban Education Ministries (CUEM) is a national non-profit, Christian organization that is “relentlessly strengthening urban education” through our three focus areas of RECRUITMENT, RESOURCES, and RECOGNTION. CUEM is sponsoring a special event for all city school teachers and leaders titled, “Reviving Family Engagement – A Kieschnick Educational Event”. This opportunity includes an incredible brunch, an expert educational panel, and unique networking opportunities (www.cuemnational.org).

Title: Reviving Family Engagement

Moderator: Dr. Chrishirella Warthen-Sutton will provide us with an overview of family engagement research, practice and facilitate a conversation with a panel of educational experts.

Description: The pandemic crisis has prompted educators to be innovative and shift their mindset about family engagement. Hear from a panel of practitioners who will share expert knowledge and strategies to strengthen family engagement in urban schools. The ultimate goal of this session will be to promote the dual capacity of families and educators to effectively partner towards student success and school improvement.

Cost: $15 (no cost for Grow a Teacher students)
